Meet the 2025 Runners!
Nicole Adduci
I am so excited to be running my first marathon ever for GallopNYC this fall! Although my lifelong love of horses is what first brought me to GallopNYC, it is the unparalleled impact on not just the riders but also the families, instructors, staff, and the absolute army of tireless volunteers that has truly stuck with me. GallopNYC's work is genuinely life-changing, offering opportunities for New Yorkers to grow, gain confidence, and find reason to believe in their own strength and abilities. I can't wait to tackle the marathon thinking of GallopNYC with every mile. My starting line mantra? "Trot on!"

Originally born in Belarus (formerly part of the Soviet Union), I immigrated to the United States in 1980 at the age of six. I grew up in South Brooklyn and eventually went on to build and run a successful high-end commercial painting and finishing company in New York City.
An avid outdoorsman, I’ve always been drawn to physical challenges—whether skiing, mountain biking, or CrossFit. In 2012, I took up road biking and have since completed several hundred-mile rides in places like Lake Tahoe, Santa Fe, and San Diego.
Over the past five years, my son became immersed in the world of triathlons and has gone on to compete in multiple Ironman events. His dedication inspired me to push my own limits, and just before my 50th birthday, I proudly completed Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico.
Throughout my career, I’ve always believed in giving back and have supported various charitable organizations along the way. I’m honored to be running my very first marathon—New York City’s 53rd—with the GallopNYC team.
Adding to the meaning of this experience, I’ll be running alongside a close friend—someone I’ve known since childhood and who remains one of my dearest friends today. We've inspired each other through training, and I’m excited to take on this challenge together.
Running for a cause gives this journey a deeper sense of purpose, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to turn a personal milestone into something that makes a broader impact.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where as a kid, I’d watch the New York City Marathon stream down 4th Avenue and wonder, “How can anyone run that far?”
In my late 20s, I moved to New Zealand for work and ended up staying for good. Now, as I turn 50, I’ve decided it’s time for a personal challenge. So, I chose the one thing that once felt completely impossible, running in the NYC Marathon.
I bought a pair of running shoes, took a deep breath, and started my journey. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s become much more than just a physical goal. It’s about pushing my limits, testing my mindset, and proving that I can overcome obstacles.
What I love most are the emotions that surface on a long run—the mental rollercoaster. Just when you feel like quitting, there’s this voice in your head that says, “Keep going.” That’s the voice I listen to.
The icing on the cake isn’t just reaching a personal goal, it’s raising money for GallopNYC, an incredible organization that changes lives through therapeutic horsemanship. Running for something greater than myself gives every step deeper meaning. I’ll be running for everyone connected to GallopNYC and the powerful work they do.

I am excited to partner with GallopNYC this year for the 2025 TCS NYC Marathon! GallopNYC is an incredible organization that helps change individuals’ lives using equine therapy. As someone who has happy memories going to horse camp as a kid, I am excited to raise funds in support of their life-changing programs! Please consider donating to help me reach my fundraising goal and make a difference.

As a volunteer and Junior Board member with the organization, I am thrilled to be running the New York City Marathon for GallopNYC!
When I’m not running, trotting, or lead/side walking (horse girl jokes... yikes), I’m a Creative Director in the nonprofit space.
